An automatic parking lift collapsed leaving a car hanging precariously from the beams.

The sedan was being carried down to the ground floor as the driver was about to leave when the elevator subsided and the vehicle was stuck in Bangkok, Thailand on May 24.

Footage shows the silver car slumped on the lopsided platform while its owner Watcharapong Phosrithong looked at it from the outside of the free-to-use building with workers.

The staff were later able to retrieve the vehicle from the malfunctioned mechanism and returned it to Watcharapong with dents.

He said he will pursue the operators of the car park for compensation to cover the cost of the damage to his vehicle.

Automatic car park lifts, also known as automated parking systems (APS), are mechanical systems that automatically park and retrieve vehicles.
