An 11-year-old boy was rescued after accidentally falling off the window of his room and ending up on the 13th-floor lintel.

Footage shows the child sitting helplessly on top of the window structure covered with a red blanket and waiting for firefighters to arrive on December 1.

The boy got trapped on top of the frame after suddenly falling from the window while his parents were not in the apartment in the city of Kaili, in China's south-eastern Guizhou province.

Local media said that firefighters rushed to the scene after the incident was reported.

In the video, they could be seen securing the child with a rope before pulling him up the window and into the room, after briefly checking whether he is physically okay.

A second video shows a man, reportedly the boy's father, hugging him tightly as the fireman who secured the child with the rope climbs up the window following the successful rescue operation.
