Locals have begun selling holiday-themed costumes as Christmas draws near in Thailand.

Footage shows dozens of festive red, white, and green Christmas garb on display at Paphasorn Ekpanithanpong's store, Apakorn shop, in Nakhon Ratchasima province on December 19.

Paphasorn said she sells Christmas clothing in more than 20 different styles for customers of all ages.

The products range from 100 to 700 THB, with clothes in the 300 to 400 THB range being the most popular.

However, she said she ordered 40 per cent less Christmas costumes this year 'due to economic concerns' that might lead to a loss.

She said: 'Luckily, my store is close to both government offices and local schools. I have many customers coming to buy regularly. They usually visit before Christmas, around December 22-24.

'However, this year, I ordered about 40 per cent fewer Christmas outfits for sale than last year due to the economy not being good. But since I make a living selling seasonal clothes, I have to order them to sustain my business despite the risk.'
