The Los Angeles Police Department's South Traffic Division detectives are probing a tragic incident involving a pedestrian fatality resulting from a traffic collision. On December 17, 2023, at approximately 2:05 a.m., officers responded to a collision at Western Avenue and Vernon Avenue.
The suspect's vehicle, traveling north on Western Avenue, collided with a pedestrian who was on the street. Following the impact, the suspect's vehicle continued northbound without stopping. The injured pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to the injuries. The driver is now facing Vehicular Manslaughter charges.
