A road lamp light fell onto a passing car on a highway in Thailand.

Dash cam footage shows the large bulb on the expressway lighting plunging from the top of the 50ft-tall pole in Pathum Thani, Thailand, on December 13.

It missed the driver, whose camera recorded the incident but hit a black sedan behind.

On a rear dashcam video, the vehicle was seen pulling over to the side, although no one was hurt by the road accident.

Dashcam owner Jessada Phromwong said: 'We were heading towards the intersection. It was a large bulb, so I was frightened.'

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.

However, a lack of road safety education in schools along with notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws, and chronic under-investment in infrastructure, all appear to hamper the efforts.
