New Years Eve revellers welcomed 2024 with a headache in Birmingham, England as partygoers were spotted slumped on the floor, carted off by paramedics and arrested after several fights.

One man was cuffed and placed in a mobile prison van, another was detained for suspicion of assault and a large crowd gathered so cops deployed a police dog to control the crowd.

Thousands had descended onto Broad Street, an infamous nightclub strip in the Midlands on 31 December to see in the new year.

As the night turned into early morning, rowdy revellers tussled with each other and one man was kicked on the ground before police officers were able to intervene.

Friends had to lift up others who had collapsed on the floor and St John's Paramedics attended those who couldn't be safely taken home.
