The recent 7.6 magnitude earthquake which struck central Japan on January 1st has left 48 dead and caused significant damage across parts of the country.

A Vietnamese international student studying in Toyama Province filmed damage on the roads caused by the tremors.

He commented: "Everything around me shook, furniture fell and people shouted to each other to run out of the house. The earthquake lasted about 20 seconds. After the earthquake ended, many large cracks appeared on the road ahead. Everyone quickly moved out of the dangerous area."
