Boat Strikes Pelican at Fort Matanzas, FL, USA

Fort Matanzas National Monument shared a video recounting a recent incident where a brown pelican fell victim to a boat collision near the Fort Matanzas dock on Saturday. The distressed bird, with a visibly broken wing, prompted quick action from park staff who swiftly intervened to rescue it.
Following the rescue, Fort Matanzas Rangers transported the injured pelican to a local emergency wildlife veterinarian. The park has collaborated with Ark Wildlife Rescue in the hopes of ensuring the pelican's full recovery.
