STORYLINE:

A friendship delegation from the U.S. state of Utah wrapped up their visit to China's Beijing and Shanghai on Saturday.

The delegation had 13 members and included Utah state officials and students.

They visited Shanghai Soong Ching Ling School on Friday.

The visit has signified a larger effort in strengthening Sino-American educational cooperation and understanding between the Chinese and American young people.

"I think anytime we can connect with each other, it's wonderful. And as we learn about each other, we'll become better friends and make stronger and better connections. I love seeing all the laughter here on the playground and the smiles. These kids are wonderful and they were so excited."

"In school, I learned about what China likes, some aspects of Chinese schools. But I've never seen how talented, how focused their study is. It really impresses me. I hope that in the future, students like me will be able to come to schools in Shanghai or just in China in general, and the Chinese students will be able to come to the United States, in Utah."
