USS Gerald R. Ford Sailors Reunite with Families in Norfolk, USA After Eight-Month Deployment

Sailors from the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), a Ford-class aircraft carrier, joyously reunited with their families, alongside the Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 12 staff, as the ship docked at Naval Station Norfolk on January 17, 2024. The emotional reunion marked the end of an eight-month deployment for the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group.
During the deployment, the Gerald R. Ford CSG operated in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations under the command of the U.S. 6th Fleet, dedicated to defending U.S., allied, and partner interests.
