A German man has been arrested in Thailand for alleged sex abuse against children including his own daughter.

The suspect, identified only as 'Tony', allegedly molested children and then distributed recordings of the attacks on German websites on the dark web.

Officers raided Tony's home in Udon Thani province in northeast Thailand on January 14 after the German Federal Criminal Police Office submitted information to Thai authorities about his explicit online activities.

The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) found electronic devices containing more than 10,000 images of child pornography, including those of Tony's daughter.

Police have detained Tony, who will face multiple charges including child sexual abuse, possessing child pornography, entering sexual information into a computer system, and sexually assaulting a blood relative. The Thai Criminal Court has denied his request for bail.

Police Major Yutthana Praedam, acting director-general of DSI, said Tony's arrest was a result of cooperation between the DSI, the German Federal Criminal Police Office or Bundeskriminalamt, and U.S anti-sex trafficking nonprofit Operation Underground Railroad.

The police chief said: 'I would like to inform you that we will continue to expand the results of arresting additional offenders of child sexual abuse in this case. It is believed that there are other child victims.

'We will also strive to educate children and the youth about their rights to protect them from sexual danger.

'Child sexual abuse is a serious problem that affects children both physically and mentally. Parents should always observe their children's behavior.'

The arrest came following claims last year from a German tourist, unrelated to the suspect, that he was caught with an underage girl during a police raid at a bar but fled the country by paying a one million baht (26,156 Euros) bribe to corrupt cops.
