A Droitwich man, Jack Evans, has been sentenced to three years and four months in jail for his involvement in a county lines drug network. The sentence was handed down at Worcester Crown Court yesterday (31 January) after Evans pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin, being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine, and possession of criminal property.

The arrest took place on Wednesday 25 October last year when officers from the South Worcestershire County Lines Team and Task Force executed a warrant at a property in the St. John's area of Worcester. Inside the premises, Evans was found along with Class A drugs, mobile phones, £740 in cash, scales, and a knife.

The warrant was a result of a thorough investigation into long-standing and persistent county lines drug dealing in Worcester. County lines refer to telephone numbers used to operate organized drug-dealing networks, often spanning from major cities to smaller towns and cities.

Detective Constable Alex Pullen, from the South Worcestershire County Lines Drugs Team, expressed satisfaction with the court's decision, highlighting Evans' attempt to evade arrest during the incident. Pullen mentioned that quick thinking by the officers prevented potential harm to Evans, who had jumped out of a third-floor window to avoid capture.
