This is the mind-blowing moment a popular tourist bridge was so crowded with visitors that it disappeared beneath them.

The Clear River Park in Kaifeng, Henan province, China, is a favoured destination among the country's people during the Spring Festival.

During this period, people often travel to their hometowns or visit popular scenic areas such as Clear River Park.

But the park had received so many tourists this year on February 13, that there was practically no room for them to stand or move.

Phone footage of the park's beautiful arched bridge shows how it was packed with visitors from one end to the other.

Police officers had to cordon off a small area in the middle of the bridge just to maintain order and prevent any accidents.

As the crowds surged, the bridge nearly appeared to become invisible under the countless people standing on it.

The Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year, is the most important traditional festival in Chinese culture.

It lasts for 15 days, culminating in the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the lunar new year. It is a tim when people celebrate the end of winter and the arrival of spring, as well as honoring ancestors and deities for blessings in the upcoming year.
