A street vendor found himself desperately calling for help when his stall full of candied fruit was swarmed with bees that were attracted to its sweetness.

The shopkeeper man was trying to sell Tanghulu, an increasingly popular Chinese snack consisting of several rock sugar-coated fruits, on a street in Fuyang in Anhui, China.

Phone footage captured by passersby, who in contrast found the sight amusing, shows the man talking on his phone while standing next to the Tanghulu stall overrun by bees.

He could be heard saying: 'What should I do? There are too many, and I can't get rid of them.'

Concerned about the possibility of passersby getting stung, the stall owner ultimately decided to drive the stall away.
