Pilot and passenger emerge unscathed as light aircraft crashes in Washington
A pilot and a passenger emerged unscathed as a light aircraft crashed in Washington.
Two individuals were onboard the Cirrus SR-22 and exited the plane without sustaining any injuries near 6500 127th Avenue Southeast in the Newport Hills neighbourhood in Bellevue on March 5.
The pilot explained that he had taken off from Renton Aiport with the passenger for a training flight when the engine failed mid-flight.
Footage shows how the plane was equipped with a CAPS parachute system, which the pilot successfully deployed before landing safely.
No injuries were reported on the ground.
The National Transportation Safety Board said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
