Students seen 'cheating' during law exam in India

Footage of students who appeared to be cheating during their law exams sparked outrage in India.

The pupils were allegedly copying answers in full view of their invigilators at City Law College in Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh on February 29.

The video allegedly shows students resorting to writing answers on their desks, consulting study materials, and using cheat sheets throughout the exam.

A man is heard saying in the video: Please take a look at the notes, copies, and papers.

'Also, check out the guides available to the students in the next room.

'There is rampant cheating taking place in the college.'

As the video continues, a man can be heard asking 'Who's he?'

Another person adds: 'Please maintain silence while the live broadcast is in progress.'

The individuals attempted to halt the man who was recording the classrooms, but he resisted and shouted, declaring, 'the District Magistrate is monitoring the live broadcast'.

The situation escalated to the point where rumours of a potential altercation began to circulate.

Meanwhile, authorities swiftly intervened to address the issue, resulting in the detention of 26 students for their involvement in alleged exam-related cheating.

Local media reported that during the second exam session at the Tika Ram ChaturvediInstitute (TRC), 25 students were caught cheating, along with 12 students at Avadh Law College.

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has issued stern warnings to individuals involved in malpractice, emphasising the gravity of the situation.

Adityanath has warned of strict action against those who endanger thefuture of students.
