This is the terrifying moment strong wind battered a family's home during a storm in northeast Thailand.

The unexpected gusts rattled a grandmother as she was caring for her grandson in Mahasarakham province on March 5.

CCTV footage shows buckets, toys, and a stroller inside the house being blown away by the heavy wind.

The elderly woman sat upright to cover her grandson in the cradle, ensuring that debris from the wind wouldn't reach him.

It came as officials from the country's Meteorological Department warned that a high-pressure system from China would cause 'storms and gusty winds' across the north and northeast regions.

Temperatures have also reached 40 degrees Celsius due to the weather spell.
