SOUNDBITE (English): GARETH RAPLEY, Director of London Book Fair (LBF)
"We're delighted to see an increase this year from China. It's great, a large number of publishers. I mean it's something we want to just build upon.
My understanding is there's great relationship, I think. Here in the UK, we have a great trade relationship with China. I think a lot of business done between the two countries, a lot of great publishing relationships that go on.
I think cultural exchange and dialogue, as we've seen over many centuries, is an important aspect. It will continue to be for many years to come, I think. As humans we're all different, even from one country to the next and within our own countries as well. So that cultural exchange is an important part of fostering relationships and building awareness."
