Three police officers from the 76th Precinct are being praised for their heroic actions in saving the life of a man who fell onto the subway tracks in the Bronx. The incident took place around 2 a.m. on Monday (March 11) near the Fordham Rd. subway station.

Sgt. Thomas and Officers Nunez and Bertrand were on patrol when they received a report that someone had fallen onto the tracks. Without hesitation, the officers rushed into the station where they found a man in distress. One of the officers immediately jumped down onto the tracks while the other two tried to lift him back onto the platform.

The officers worked quickly to assist the man who was bleeding from his head. Using his hoodie, they were able to pull him up to safety before paramedics arrived on the scene to transport him to a nearby hospital.

Body camera footage of the harrowing rescue was shared by the department on social media, showcasing the bravery and dedication of the officers involved.
