A driver in Madrid had a startling surprise when she discovered a snake slithering inside her car on Sunday night. The woman noticed movement near the pedals and quickly pulled over on a busy road to investigate. She called Madrid's municipal police for help.

When officers arrived, they found a curious corn snake moving around the dashboard and behind the driver's seat. The corn snake, a harmless and constricting serpent often kept as a pet, was safely removed from the vehicle.

Authorities took the snake to a special animal recovery center in the Spanish capital.

It remains a mystery how the snake ended up inside the woman's car, but luckily no one was harmed during the peculiar ordeal.
