STORYLINE:

A professor of China's Jiangxi Agricultural University has dedicated himself to the cultivation of multicolor rapeseed flowers.

"We started to select and breed colored rapeseed flowers in 2015. At that time, people had high expectations about weekend travel and sightseeing. We saw this as a great social demand, so we began to select and breed colored rapeseed flowers."

Over the past nine years, from the initial three colors to the current 70 colors, Fu and his team add new "members" to the colorful rapeseed family almost every year.

"We wanted to uncover the mystery of rapeseed flower colors, to determine how many could be bred. This is the question that research personnel like us aim to explore."

"I have more than 10 mu (0.67 hectares) of rapeseed flowers planted here and they are growing very well. The most luxuriant patch of rapeseed flowers is right here, on my land. Seeing such beautiful rapeseed flowers, I plan to cultivate even more varieties next year."
