Teenagers take part in a competition climbing slippery bamboo poles to reach money fixed at different heights.

The traditional event was held at Thailand's annual buffalo racing festival in Chonburi province on October 1. Each pole has different bank notes at various heights - with the most valuable at the top of the pole. They have to stand on each other's shoulders and shimmy up the oily poles.

There was also a buffalo beauty parade and high-octane sprints, with jockeys racing the animals on a 100 metres sprint.
