A duck choked by a steel ball sought human help on a shore in northern China.

The video was filmed in Dalian City in Liaoning Province on April 22.

A duck ventured from its usual swim in Mingze Lake onto the fitness trail, halting the strollers in their tracks. Initially amusing, onlookers gathered around, only to realise the duck was frantically opening its beak towards humans, yet emitting no sound.

Concerned bystanders lifted the duck, prying open its beak with a phone flashlight to investigate, discovering a foreign object lodged in its throat.

Cooperatively, the duck remained calm throughout, as if comprehending the situation. Efforts ensued, culminating in its transport to the nearest police station, where authorities coordinated with a veterinary hospital for treatment. A steel ball was extracted from its oesophagus.

Unexpectedly, subsequent examination revealed a hole in the duck's head, mirroring the size of the steel ball. Despite medical intervention, its condition deteriorated rapidly, succumbing to its injuries later that evening.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
