This is the amusing moment a robot joined students - marching awkwardly with them at a sports meeting at a university in China.

The black automaton was seen striding fowards alongside students during the procession at the opening ceremony of the Spring Sports Meeting held at Peking University in Beijing, China, on April 20.

Footage shows two students from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence walking alongside the android while the band plays at the front of the parade.

The robotics agency behind the creation stated that its wobbly walking style was intentionally trained for stability and optimal movement speed.

It is also designed to prevent being knocked over or pushed.

They said the machine costs 800,000 Chinese Yuan (88,130.80 GBP).
