A resident captured the awe-inspiring moment when a thick bolt of lightning struck down.

The video was filmed on April 29 in Fuzhou, Fujian, China.

In the afternoon, the Fuzhou Meteorological Observatory issued an orange hail warning signal: parts of the urban and high-tech districts of Fuzhou may experience hail, accompanied by severe convective weather such as 8-9 level thunderstorms and strong winds.

It was reported that there were 3,013 lightning strikes in Fuzhou between 18:00 on April 29th and 9:00 on April 30th.

The China Meteorological Administration continued to issue orange warnings for severe convective weather and yellow warnings for heavy rain at 06:00 on April 30th. Parts of at least six provinces in central, eastern, and southeastern China, including Fujian, may experience short-duration heavy rainfall, local thunderstorm strong winds, hail, and in some areas, thunderstorm strong winds exceeding level 10, with maximum wind speeds exceeding level 12, and possible tornadoes.
