Unpleasant footage has emerged of a rat that was captured on board a passenger jet in China.

The video, filmed on the aircraft in Xianyang, Shaanxi Province on Sunday, shows the rat shortly after it was caught in a 'sticky' trap.

According to local reports, the flight was travelling from Thailand to Xi'an.

When it landed at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, staff began to try and catch the rat.

Once they had done so, the whole cabin was disinfected.

The video, filmed in Xianyang, Shaanxi Province last Sunday, shows a live rat being caught and crew checking the whole cabin on plane.

According to local reports, the flight was from Thailand to Xi'an, China. When it landed in Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, it was reported that there was a rat in cabin.

The staff caught the rat in half an hour and then disinfected the whole cabin.
