A fierce fire erupted at a wholesale market in southern China, resulting in one fatality.

Dramatic video captured in Guangzhou City in Guangdong Province on May 16, shows firefighters heroically rescuing multiple individuals trapped on the rooftop.

Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene, battling the flames for over two hours before finally extinguishing them at 11:40 am.

Tragically, one missing person, identified as a man in his twenties and reportedly a warehouse manager on the third floor, was found lifeless upon discovery. Medical personnel, after a thorough examination, confirmed no signs of life.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the blaze originated at the Shisanhang Longcheng Clothing Trading Centre. The affected building primarily housed a wholesale market specialising in footwear, with around 200 small-scale shops on the ground floor and warehousing facilities above the second floor.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.

据现场了解，失联者为一名二十多岁的男子，是该批发市场四楼一仓库的仓管员，戴有一副眼镜，他因患小儿麻痹症，平时行动有点不便。
据目击者透露，，火情发生的地方是十三行龙城服装交易中心。起火建筑是一个主要经营鞋类的批发市场，一层有约200个小型商铺，三层以上以仓库为主。建筑冒出浓烟大约在上午九点半，已经属于市场的营业时间。
