Great White Shark warning behavior

Buy video

I get asked all the time how you can tell when a White Shark is calm, when its being agressive, how to tell its behavior, etc...?

This is an example of a White Shark giving me a warning through body language, a behaviour called "Gill-Flaring".

You'll notice it's swimming casually and then at about 0:02 it opens its mouth and flutters its gills.

This is like a cat or a dog growling at you. It was telling me that I was too close/invaded its space and I needed to back off.

Shot on a GoPro Hero 4 Black edition with no lights or filters.
