A heartwarming video has emerged from the US of a mother reacting emotionally when seeing her son for the first time, after he lost 200 lbs in eleven months.

The footage, captured in Manchester, Connecticut, shows Michael Harrington's mother and stepfather freaking out after seeing his astonishing body transformation.

In June 2014 Mike Harrington embarked on a journey resulting in my losing over 200 pounds in 11 months without surgery. That same month my mom and stepfather had moved to Virginia from Connecticut. This is the first time they have seen me in person.

I lost weight by modifying what I ate and incorporating exercise over time.

My mom and stepfather both knew of my weight loss, but had not seen me in person.

My dad's death was my inspiration to lose weight.
