Footage has emerged of hundreds of Queensland residents queuing up to take rubbish to a dump as cyclone Debbie approaches.

The footage, shot on Saturday near the Hervey Range Landfill in Australia, shows a huge line of trucks loaded with diverse items collected in gardens and homes.

According to reports, around 25,000 people were evacuated as cyclone Debbie is set to bring 240km/h winds to the north of the country.

This video was taken a few days prior to Cyclone Debbie hitting the North Queensland, Australian coastline. It was taken at the Hervey Range Landfill, where many residents were queued up for kilometres after cleaning up their homes and yards in preparation for the destructive winds of the cyclone.
