Thomas Fire Ventura Wildfire - Fire Tornado erupts and shoots out approximately 50 yards across Foothill Road and over a house across the street
12/5/17 3:40 a.m. at Day Road and Foothill Road (Arroyo Verde Park entrance) in Ventura, CA. Thomas Fire was wreaking havoc on Ventura. I was checking on a friend's mom who lives near here and came upon this fire tornado erupting from the trunk of a pine tree. I had to stop filming because the tornado turned in my direction and seemingly lashed out at me. It got close enough to where I could feel the heat. I got back in my truck and resumed filming and it continued to get bigger. Police also saw this and ordered everyone to evacuate the area.
