My dad falls asleep while holding kettle that has just boiled and burns himself.
I`m sharing this because I hope it helps people see the dangers elderly people face and the actions carers should take. The incident happened at 1335hrs, my dad never told anyone or pressed his emergency pendant. The carers noticed it at apx 8pm and rang the district nurse team who advised 111. 111 said they would return the call within 4 hrs. I viewed the incident from home and went to my Dads. It looked too bad for a 111 call so I rang 999 and he was admitted to hospital. He is bandaged up like a mummy now and doing ok.
