Storm Emma hits Portland Harbour
On March 2nd at 0800 Storm Emma coincided with one of the highest tides of the year. Here you can see Storm Emma’s gale-force easterly winds lashing the shores of Portland Harbour, the site of the sailing events in the 2012 Olympic Games. The storm has attracted a large number of Mediterranean Gulls, a species that winters in the area from further south and east in Europe.
