Mother rhino protects calf from hungry hyenas
This is the dramatic moment two hyenas launched an attack on a rhino and its calf.
The footage, captured in Nakuru National Park in Kenya, shows the hyenas approaching the mother and calf and surrounding them to initiate the attack.
The mother rhino can be seen spinning around to keep the fierce felines away from her calf.
After a while, she attempts to run away with the calf but the hyenas keep chasing them across the savannah.
After this video finishes, two more hyenas arrived to harass the mother rhino and the calf, according to the filmer.
He explains what happens next: "After a while, the mother and the calf had to run away and they ran to the forest nearby where we couldn't follow them. After that, we met some rangers of the park and we told them what we saw.
"When I went back to the place where I was spending the night another ranger of Nakuru National Park came to visit me. He told he was in charge of the protection of the rhinos in the park and wanted to see the videos and the photos. He wanted to send a team to the place to find the mother and the calf and eventually protect the calf.
"The day after I sent him a message and asked him if he had some news and he told me that the calf and the mother were safe and alive."
The clip was filmed on November 18, 2017.
