A biker got submerged by massive waves on one of the main highways of La Réunion following heavy rain and high swells brought by Tropical Cyclone Eliakim.

The footage, captured on Friday (March 16), shows giant waves battering moving vehicles on a coastal highway on La Reunion, a French overseas department in the Indian Ocean.

According to reports, several people were killed by the tropical cyclone and more than 2,000 residents had to evacuate their homes in neighbouring Madagascar.
