Runners across the UK have taken part in a 3.7-mile run in honour of Matt Campbell, who died during last weekend’s London Marathon.

Campbell, who was a former contestant on the BBC’s popular “MasterChef” program, collapsed at the 22.5-mile mark in Sunday’s race, 3.7 miles from the end.

Video from Brathay Hall in Ambleside in the Lake District from yesterday evening shows well-wishers willing runners that included Tim Farron MP on.

Campbell was running the marathon to raise money for the Brathay Trust, a children’s charity based at Brathay Hall.

Cumbria’s so-called iron man, fell runner Joss Naylor, also took part.

More #finishformatt events are planned for this weekend.
