Malarkey came to us when he was nearly 3 years old. He resented his new mom and felt abandoned. It took months for him to feel at home and to show affection. First three nights we couldn't diaper him, he was aggressive and scared and he slept in our bed (leashed) with no diaper. Thereafter we wore leather gloves and pin him down for the next 14 days to get one diaper on him. After that he gave his tail to his new mom and allowed her to diaper him. When a adult monkey refuses his tail (to be handled or touched) he is not submissive and wants to dominate. Malarkey has accepted me and my husband as the Alfa female and male in the house and he respects and love us. On 15 June 2018 it will be a year since his joined our family.
