This young American Rottweiler is happy to be playing again after a terrible upbringing. Rex, so-named for wrecking everything, had his back broken by a previous owner as a pup and only recovered after being rescued.

Now around 3 years old, Rex has partially recovered but has many complications extending from his back injury, particularly in clumsiness and balance. His owner has consulted many vets who offered major surgeries with a high risk of being put down as a means of treating him.

This being too risky, Rex's owner has opted for lots of exercise to help Rex adjust to his new condition more easily, and now he's happy and healthy at his home in Gering, Nebraska.

My American Rottweiler named Rex (because he wrecks into everything) playing fetch in the park. His previous owner broke his back while he was a puppy, so I took him to give him a better life. The video was taken on August 5th in Gering, Nebraska, USA by myself. I have taken him to see many vets, but they've all said there's nothing they can do. A few offered surgery with the warning of having to put him down after due to the high risk of further complications. Their best advice is to continue giving him exercise. He's happy and healthy so I've chosen not to risk surgery. I'm not sure of his exact age, but I've had him going on two years (he was about a year old when I took him) so he's 3, give or take.
