A filmer captured footage of an angry hippopotamus chasing after a boat in a lake in Kenya.

In the video, a tourist films three hippos as a boat slowly glides past them.

Then one hippo turns to face the boat and begins to chase it.

“He’s going after us!” the filmer exclaims.

The operator speeds the boat up so the hippo can’t keep and, eventually, it gives up the chase.

“We came a little too close to a group of hippos in the water and one of them started chasing the boat,” the filmer said.

We were staying in a lodge in Lake Oleidon (near Lake Naivasha) in Kenya. The lodge suggested we go down and pay one of the locals $20 to have a boat ride around the lake. Only 5 minutes into the boat ride, we came a little to close to a group of Hipos in the water and one of them started chasing the boat. It was only later on I found out that Hipos regularly kill people in the area!
