Unexpected snowfall over the Dolomites in Northern Italy
With the entry of the fresh northern currents following the disturbance from Scandinavia as well as heavy rains, the snow made its return to the Alps up to unusually low altitude for the period, whitening the Dolomites even under 1200m in Val Pusteria, where temperatures have approached zero degrees. Snow up to 1500-1700m also in Val Badia, the Veneto Dolomites, the Carnic and Tarvisian Alps; snow also on the Stelvio Pass.
