Incredible time lapse shows SpaceX launch from Santa Monica
SpaceX's successful launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from the Vandenberg Air Force Base lit up the Southern California sky on Sunday, October 7.
The rocket launched at 7:21 pm and was returned to its Santa Barbara County base within the span of 15 minutes. During it, residents reported a bright, slow-moving orb in the sky, taking to social media to post pictures and videos of their sightings.
According to local media, the Air Force last week advised residents on the central California coast they might see multiple engine burns by the first stage and hear one or more sonic booms as it returned.
This video, filmed by Tim Moss in Santa Monica and shared to Facebook, shows a time lapse of the launch
