Violent clashes broke out between police and protesters in Lyon during the 16th round of "yellow vest" protests across France.

Footage captured yesterday (March 2) shows yellow vest protesters marching peacefully through the streets of the French city.

Police can be seen firing what appears to be tear gas to disperse a crowd of protesters later in the video.

Tear gas and water cannon were also used against protesters in Nantes, Bordeaux, and Toulouse.

About 39,300 people protested nationwide, including 4,000 in Paris, according to the Interior Ministry.
