Spanish police cleared the Plaça Reial after Liverpool fans had upset locals and tourists over their two-day trip to watch their team play Barcelona.

The footage shows the Liverpool fans pre-match yesterday (May 1) and the litter they left behind ahead of their Champions League semifinal with Barcelona.

Before the end of the night on Tuesday (April 30), the police were met with a chorus of boo's as they ushered people off the square and back into the surrounding cafes and bars.

Axel, who filmed these videos, told Newsflare: "It was extremely loud and I was happy to see the police shut it down before the night came. They also did not seem to see the value in the architecture here since I saw a few people climbing the fountain and the Gaudi lamppost. I was also surprised to see how well the city managed the cleaning though. It was done in around half an hour, which for me was impressive."

On Tuesday, several people were arrested after footage emerged of Liverpool fans pushing locals into a fountain.

"My flatmates were shocked by the fans as well, even though we do have a Brit living with us. I’ve been told that the Liverpool fans aren’t a good representation of the country. In all I think we were shocked to see this kind of negligence in our Plaça," Axel added.
