Pagan burning of The Wicker Man
The Verulam Arms, famous for the Foragers, burnt a Pagan Man whilst the Princes Medieval Troubadour band played music in front of a large crowd. This was part of their celebrations to welcome the coming of Spring.
Richard Osmond, the landlord, struggled to get the fire started using a dried stick made of mugwort and had to use a gas torch to get the fire started.
Richard has appeared recently on BBC Countryfile and has had his own tv series on foraging.
