Residents of Hong Kong took to the streets yesterday (June 9) to demonstrate against a bill proposed by Hong Kong's government to extradite citizens to mainland China.

Footage of Hennessy Road filmed from a highrise building shows a crowd of protesters marching through the street in the city centre.

It was reported that a million people congregated in the streets despite authorities claiming the number of protesters was close to 240,000.

The filmer explained: "Most people I have ever seen in my life and probably ever will.

"I am an expat from America and it actually was very crazy that people were so organized and did not cause many problems during the actual march.

"You could be one street over and not even know it was happening. The police returned the road to normal very quickly.

"Little cleanup was needed as the trash was just piled around trash cans.

"It would probably have been rowdier and trashed if it was a US big city.

"I know there were issues at the end of the walk, but none I could tell from watching over the afternoon.

"It was a good experience and you couldn't say that for many protests, a la Gilets Jaunes, etc."
