This is the moment a rare white squirrel was spotted pinching peanuts from a garden bird feeder.

Fran McGarry, 58, spotted the snowy creature munching away in the grounds of her cattery in the village of Peasedown Saint John, Somerset.

Fran believes the squirrel, a local legend in the community, is rarer than a typical albino because its eyes are brown instead of red.

The garden, surrounded by woodland, is visited by up to 40 grey squirrels daily and birds such as woodpeckers.
