The Fourth of July fireworks were scaring Luna the dog when 5-year-old Landon noticed and came to the rescue, comforting the dog instead of catching the spectacular show.

“We can’t leave Luna, she is too scared!" he told his mother, and suggested using animal shows on TV as well as a weighted blanked to soothe the frightened pooch.

"They remained cuddled for hours. His process worked, and his empathetic nature received immense appreciation by not only the scared pup, but from me as well," said Landon's mother, Andrea.

On the 4th of July, 5 year old Landon noticed his recently rescued dog Luna, was frightened by the Fireworks being set off in their Midwestern town. Instead of spending his night watching the action in the sky outside, he chose to stay home and comfort his 4 legged companion instead.
Upon noticing her reaction of coming towards him-instead of running to hide when the blasts went off, he sprung into action to calm her anxieties, at the sacrifice of the annual festivities.
He told his mother “We can’t leave Luna, she is too scared!” And suggested he use a weighted blanket, Animal TV Shows, and lots of love (and a few covers of her ears when the blasts went off) to soothe her- and they remained cuddling for hours.
