this video is a bit graphic, it shows the removal of a young joey kangaroo from its dead mother's pouch. The mother had been killed in a traffic accident and the procedure is performed on the side of the road in rural New South Wales
Due to the size of the joey the mother's pouched had to be cut open with scissors to ensure the joey was not hurt during removal
