A conference for first responders on 9/11 was held in New York earlier this week to raise further awareness for people with health conditions stemming from their service during the attack.

The event took place on September 16 in Lower Manhattan, with former talk show host Jon Stewart and New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand both gave speeches on the issues affecting the 9/11 responders.

Not only first responders but students, teachers, residents, and those who worked below Canal street at the time can get medical help with the list of related deceases for free.

Stewart has been a long-term advocate for their rights.
