A tour of Bolivia’s ‘Death Road’: the world’s most dangerous road
Death road is the world’s most dangerous road.
Guided by tour company, myself and 4 friends took the 60km downhill trek. The first 30km is asphalt, the second 30km is where the true ‘Death Road’ starts.
It start high in the cold and arid Andes, around 5.5km, to around 1.5km where it’s cold and dense.
For the last part of the road, you take a flying fox.
Thought a new road has been built, at it’s peak usage, one car was going over the edge every second week.
Earlier this year, a NZ boy lost his life when he rode of the edge. Maybe tourists die every year going down Death Road.
